Hardware Engineer

Mountain View, CA

We are looking for Hardware Engineers to architect the next generation of accelerators for analytics, ML, and big data. The Hardware team works hand-in-hand with our Software team to integrate FPGA- and GPU-based accelerators in our products, and team members have a vast knowledge of hardware design, computer architecture, and software development.

Responsibilities:

  • New FPGA board bring-up
  • New IP micro-architecture design and coding
  • Maintaining existing IP codes
  • IP synthesis and place&route
  • IP verification
  • HW/SW interface design and implementation
  • System-level verification

Required Skills:

  • Hardworking, dedicated, and self-motivated
  • Team player with a roll-up-your-sleeve attitude
  • Proficiency in Verilog
  • Proficiency in Python
  • For hardware/Software interface designers: Proficiency in C++ 11 or newer
  • Proficiency with revision control systems (e.g. Github)
  • Solid understanding of hardware simulation concept
  • Solid understanding of hardware synthesis concept
  • Solid understanding of computer architecture
  • Proficiency in FPGA toolsets: Xilinx and Altera
  • Proficiency in Verilog simulation tools

Preferred: 

  • MS degree with 4 years of experience or Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering, and/or Computer Science
  • Familiarity with Scala
  • For non-Hardware/Software interface designers: Familiarity with C/C++
  • Familiarity with agile workflow
  • Familiarity with big data frameworks (Apache Spark, Hadoop, Hive, …)
  • Understanding of Machine Learning, programming, and compiler basics
